Originally built by salmon fishermen to get to their fishing ground, the first bridge was a mere terrifying collection of ropes spanning a huge drop. Hard, courageous men took what must have been one of the most dangerous commutes to work anywhere in the world! Today the bridge is solid and safe, but is still a bit of a leg-wobbler and will give even the hardiest adrenaline junkies a bit of a thrill. It’s a beautiful thing in a fantastic setting. It’s a bit of a walk from the car park, so don’t expect just to get out of the car and hop on. But the walk is as spectacular at the bridge, so enjoy the experience.
